I hired Foster Law Firm in South Carolina for assistance with a MetLife short and long-term disability appeal, based on a referral from the prestigious Darras Law Firm. I was disappointed with the experience, primarily due to the extremely high fees. The firm charged approximately $5,300 to draft and send a single appeal letter, which I found to be excessive given the limited scope of work. More concerning was that when I requested an itemized bill, none was provided. This lack of billing transparency raised red flags and made it difficult to understand how the total cost was calculated. For clients dealing with the financial and emotional burden of disability, this type of legal service model can be very discouraging. I would caution others to ask detailed questions about fees and billing practices before proceeding.
