So I found myself in a position I would have never believed I would be in, the need for criminal legal help. I don't have much money so was given a public defender. While I appreciate the free legal help, it wasn't good. I felt not heard and put off. While trying to navigate this matter I only spoke one time with her in the month or more she was supposedly helping me. I only said there was one avenue I didn't want to use because it would have affected my future. So on a motion she filed to amend something, that's the first thing she said to the judge. Sorry that's not help. I knew I needed a real criminal lawyer. After speaking with Mr. Meehling once, I received more understanding and legal advice than I received with the public defender in months. He listened to my problem, asked probing questions and gave advice that made sense. He never gave false hope but facts and knowledge of the best ways to proceed. All of this before I even officially hired him. I did have to get a bit of assistance on getting him paid but it was much more affordable than I thought. Some lawyers were asking for an hourly rate and after all is said and done, I could have been paying for them forever. John gave me a few options of overall cost for different scenarios. I found him to be kind, sincere and understanding of the stress and complexity of my personal situation. I honestly am very happy with my decision to put my case in his hands.

I used Mr. Meehling for a custody my custody hearing and to be completely honest it didn't start out good, however he exceeded my expectations. This man knows his stuff and he went above and beyond.
