I was the seller in a transaction where my buyer chose to use Keel Lassiter Law Firm. We were scheduled to close on the townhouse on a Thursday. However, I wasn't informed until after 3:00 p.m. that the closing wouldn't happen that day. I was told it would take place on Monday since Friday was a federal holiday. On Monday, I was once again notified--after 3:00 p.m.--that the closing didn't happen because the buyer still didn't have their mortgage documents in order. The closing was finally completed on Tuesday morning, and the keys were handed over to the buyer. That afternoon, I received an adjusted financial statement from Keel Lassiter with my payout reduced due to the buyer's delay. I took exception to this, especially since I wasn't responsible for the delay and the keys had already been given to the buyer. Fortunately, after speaking with one of the attorneys, they agreed to honor the original payout amount. A week passed, and I still hadn't received my check from Keel Lassiter. I contacted FedEx and was informed that the address on the letter was incorrect and that the shipper would need to contact them to correct it. I reached out to Keel Lassiter, and they admitted it was a "CLERICAL" error, promising to reissue the check. I ended up receiving both letters the next day.
