I've thought long and hard about how I wanted to rate the service I received from Derek Mace. It's my first time hiring a lawyer and it was for a child custody case. Honestly, I am not satisfied as I felt like my voice was not heard and he didn't seem to care or had interest in my case, but took it anyway because it was probably "easy money." I was never informed of any news or updates until the day before I had to go to court. I received a call saying to meet Derek Mace at the court house "tomorrow" at this time and that was it, no additional information. The whole process felt rushed. I had some concerns/questions after the consent order was done and was told we could always reach back out, in which I did, but he won't answer you. Once they've taken your money and the case is closed, they don't care anymore. If this was the best Derek Mace could do for me only, I would NOT recommend him.

Mr. Mace handled our situation flawlessly. Several years ago he ensured that the custody papers were specific and clear. As we continued our journey with Mr. Mace he offered countless conversations guiding us in the right direction to ultimately adopt our son. He ensured that our son was protected and that his wishes were included throughout the journey. Mr. Mace communicated throughout the process and ensures us of next steps to make sure we were aware of every step along the way. Highly recommend this law office and the dedication that they give to each and every client.

About 10 years ago I had a very bad experience with a previous lawyer I had hired that did absolutely nothing for me. So, naturally I was nervous walking into Hawkins & Mace a couple weeks ago. My expectations were met above and beyond. Hiring Derek Mace was an excellent decision! He is very professional, knowledgeable, and will fight hard for you! I felt like he was truly hearing what I said and taking action immediately. I will definitely use him in the future if needed. Absolutely recommend him for any custody case!!

Ms. Hawkins is a wonderful person. She gets stuff done and she is also one of the top custody lawyers in catawaba county in my opinion.
