If you are looking for an attorney to close on a property, do yourself a favor and do NOT hire Richard L. Diamond. Much like the other reviews on Google, I have had a horrible experience when he represented the sellers for a property I purchased. He made several mistakes that caused multiple delays, costing my husband and I thousands of dollars in extension fees and rent because he was unable to close before our move out date. He also wound up costing the sellers thousands of dollars, as they had to pay mortgage and HOA fees while the property lay vacant. He was not transparent with the sellers in the mistakes he made, and misled them to believe the bank was at fault for the delays. He was so unresponsive, we actually thought he had died. He was unwilling to admit to his mistakes that delayed closing. He even went as far as to lie and say we contacted him and left him a nasty voicemail. When asked to play sed "voicemail" he said he deleted it. How convenient. He was also not able to provide the email he claimed he had sent to the bank for the stock and lease. Not only is Richard Diamond a terrible attorney with no idea how to navigate banks for a closing process - he is also just a cold hearted person. My husband and I were nearly homeless because we did not have the option to extend our lease another month. All the while, he remained unresponsive and uncooperative. Ultimately, we received less than half of the compensation we were entitled to, but the bright side is that it came out of Richard L. Diamond's paycheck. I will be filing a formal complaint with New York State. I whole-heartedly believe Richard L. Diamond has no business practicing law and look forward to launching an official complaint for negligence, deceit and misconduct.
