I have been a client of Peggy Knee since 2004. My wife and I originally sought her services to draw Wills and Trusts for us and for my wife's parents. We selected Peggy because of her expertise in setting up Special Needs Trusts, which my wife's parents had to do for a disabled child. Peggy made it easy to develop estate plans and documents that met all of our goals. She listened carefully to our needs and made practical suggestions for setting up plans to meet them. When it came time for us to review the legal documents, she patiently answered all of our questions and took whatever time was needed to explain what the legal jargon meant so that we could be sure the documents specified our wishes. After the deaths of my wife's parents, she carefully guided us through the process of settling their estates. Recently, my wife and I had initiated the process of revising our earlier Wills and Trusts. During this time, my wife became terminally ill and we did not have time to draft estate documents that would specify her wishes. Peggy saved the day by recommending that my wife create a simple Will leaving everything to me and provide me with a set of instructions on disbursing gifts to those who would have received bequests under the Will and Trust she had intended to create. I am now settling my wife's estate and have relied on Peggy's expertise to make sure everything is done correctly. I routinely email questions to her and quickly receive clear, helpful answers. It is a pleasure to work with Peggy. She is friendly and genuinely expresses concern for me and my family members. While she is very professional, she is open to personal discussions if you wish to engage. While I initially worked with her in person, all of my recent encounters have been done remotely. She is equally adept at Zoom conferences, phone conferences, and emails. The method we opt to use depends on the complexity of the issues we need to discuss and my preference for which method I feel will work best at a particular point in time. What I have found especially refreshing about working with Peggy is her old-fashioned approach to the business side. We work on trust. I tell her what is needed and she provides an initial rough estimate of cost if I ask. No bills for service while the work is ongoing. Peggy bills for her services only after the work is complete.
