I don't take any pleasure in writing negative reviews, but in this case I feel it's necessary. As a lawyer, Michael clearly knows the law and is likely a strong transactional attorney -- that's the only reason this isn't a one-star review. However, when it comes to client service and communication, the experience was extremely disappointing. From our first meeting, the tone was overwhelmingly negative. Rather than focusing on possible paths forward, most of our discussions centered on how bad the situation was. After the first couple of meetings, I had to start steering the conversations toward solutions myself. Communication outside of meetings was worse. I would ask questions via email and get responses like: "Be here on Monday at 8." No greeting, no explanation -- just blunt, one-line commands. That was his tone consistently. As a paying client, I expected professional courtesy and two-way scheduling -- not instructions barked at me. In meetings, I was often given vague direction or more "homework" without clear guidance or responsiveness to my concerns. I'll admit there was one instance where I took a week to provide some documents due to difficulty accessing my wife's pay stubs. But otherwise, I was responsive and provided documents within 1-2 business days. Unfortunately, that courtesy wasn't returned. The final straw came when I asked a very basic question -- whether it even made sense to continue pursuing my case -- and received no answer. He instead asked me again (for the third time) for more pay stubs. I replied by repeating my question, and then followed up with two more emails over the next 11 days. No response at all. At that point, I requested a refund of the remaining portion of my $2,500 retainer. I acknowledged that he should be compensated for the work done: filing paperwork, deferring the court date, and holding two meetings. But beyond that, I see no reason to continue with someone so unresponsive. We'll see if he honors the refund request -- I gave him 5 business days to do so. Again, I don't question his legal knowledge. But working with him was incredibly frustrating, and I would not recommend him to anyone looking for a lawyer who communicates clearly or treats clients with basic respect.

To start the staff is amazing and more than helpful, which makes you feel comfortable and right at home. Mr. Hanson is amazing at what he does. He always has time to explain any question you may have. This firm gives you the peace of mind you deserve. I highly recommend them you won't be disappointed.

Mike use to be a good lawyer, back in the late 90's early 2000. Is this the new thing now? Attorney's accepting/taking their clients hard earned money and not doing ANYTHING. Good Job.

He's outgoing, loud, and (I mean this the nicest way possible) fairly condescending, which is the perfect combination for a lawyer. He is so willing to work with you on payments. Its not always easy to come up with a lot of extra money and he seems to understand that. He never has to ask you to remind him what case hes working on, he already knows, and he knows about new cases before you tell him. Every single one. He's blunt. And he wears funny clothes sometimes. He's a really good lawyer. Just to take on the caseload that we presented him said how good he was. Several other lawyers wouldn't even give us an estimate bc there was too much going on, but he's worked with us since day one. And, while my boyfriend is probably going to prison for a hot minute, he's definitely not going to go as long as he should be. Lol
