My friend was sentenced to 10 years in prison for giving someone 12 stitches in the lip during a bar fight! He was charged with a Class A felony and no weapon was involved During the trial the attorney failed to cross-examine the plaintiff or obtain evidence regarding his claim that he had brain damage (he didn't even have a concussion) had to drink out of a straw for week (It is not recommended to use a straw when lacerations occur to the lip, that would be for a broken jaw) his demeanor the day of the fight, and his behavior at work toward his customers. In addition, he did not allow the jury to review the depositions. The depositions were important to show the statements before the trial and during the trial were not the same. Which would have shown that the plaintiff lied during testimony. After the defendant was found guilty and remained in jail Mr. Trosen would not return calls within a timely manner.
