Attorney Muthu Veerappan is a great attorney and former prosecutor. Muthu is very knowledgeable and assisted me with some citations I recently received. He was able to get it removed and no points on my record! I would highly recommend him for any of your legal needs!
This is my honest opinion per my actual case this year. Muthu Veerappan had my case and I was looking for civil lawsuit with contingency base fee, but he strongly recommended to start with PPO first. From at some point, I couldn't stop thinking he did it because he wanted the upfront money for PPO as it doesn't matter whether it is successful or not, differ from contingency based. I have many reasons why I believe that. For example, because my main purpose was for civil lawsuit, I asked several times when he would start to prepare for it but he continued to avoid answering the questions. (We communicated mostly by email). Before I signed the contract, I asked and he said I have a very strong case to win, but as I worried per his reactions, he did not even start any single thing for the civil suit and he just informed me that he terminated the contract without any discussion with me as soon as PPO was denied.(I will say more at the bottom, so read below). Another example is that I explained what happened but he just listened what I said and I do not remember he asked any single question to find out more or understand the case better. I thought he would do later as we work together but never happened. Before I signed the contracts, I asked timelines of the PPO filing and civil suit, he said he would file PPO in 2 weeks but after signed everything was changed. It took about a week in general to get his respond on my email and the PPO was ended to file about 2 months later. The judge was like... "why now?" because PPO filed about a few months later after the incident. Muthu Veerappan took all those time and provided major reason to be declined in my opinion, and I felt I wasted time and money but most importantly lost a "potential" chance of accepting PPO by delaying too long. Another thing I want you to share is about contracts. When he sent me the 2 contracts for PPO and civil suit, I had to point out several things that are not correct or didn't make sense per what he told me and what we talked. I didn't think he even reviewed before sent. Anyway he didn't clear out some of things still but I just let it go because I had email about that. One thing you really have to pay attention to the contract is (at least in my contract) there was a statement saying that he(the lawyer) can terminate the contract at anytime without any reason. I asked him for explanation and he said it is just when for some customers don't pay fees/owed or communicate, and it wouldn't apply to my case as I paid all already and seem to actively communicate. However, as I mentioned above, as soon as PPO was declined, he terminated the contracts without any discussion with me but just informed me and refused to do any further. Again, he did NOTHING for civil suit that was why I was looking for a lawyer. This was really shocking to me and hurt me so badly but I just couldn't do anything. As I share above, I had so many bad impressions and experiences with Muthu Veerappan, and he didn't look professional to me at all. I was desperately looking for help on the incident but I felt like he just took an advantage from me instead of helping me as a lawyer. I am so regretting and I would've never signed the contract if I knew it.
