We uploaded all of our documents to their portal, and chatted back-and-forth through that portal. (This was a significant upgrade to our parents' generation that gathered their receipts in a shoe box. ThoughAllen assured me they could still handle a shoe box). The team was super responsive to all of our questions and concerns. And I had a lot of questions. Allen explained why certain deductions were no longer allowed (e.g., aging out of the child tax credit), as well as the tax implications of different investment options, so that we could make the best choices for our family. The speed with which we provided our information was the driver to how long the return took to complete. Once they had everything, the turn around time was fast.
