I have serious but repairing brain and neck injuries acquired when for several years I had to severely reduce my job to caretake my seriously ill in-laws. The medical expenses to help pay for my recoveries (plus the cost of my inlaws which I could not make up for with paid work later due to my acquired injuries (tbi )) were crazy bad even with insurance, and the costs impact my entire family (husband and 3 kids' futures). Eventually, my inability to return to paid work and the ongoing expenses of repairing my injuries, forced us into bankruptcy. We went to Kim Marshall who is very compassionate and understanding, not judgmental and she made us feel at ease going through this difficult time and helping us through the whole stressful bankruptcy process. We have a 5 year bankruptcy. This year the tax laws drastically changed from last year and we owed a ton more in taxes (a prohibitive amount), and forever afterwards if the laws stay the same, and had to alter our chapter 13 and future finances to reflect and be able to pay for that.
