Do not under any circumstances allow this woman to represent you. She can't be trusted to do so. She was my pro bono attorney in my divorce case. (Domestic violence). She kept putting off any attempts I made to meet with her. She ignored the fact that my ex-spouse was in contempt of court. Any time I tried contacting her I was treated with contempt and told she didn't have time for my "sob" story. I wound up homeless with nothing even though I was married nearly 30 years. While trying to get something done about my case, my spouse and his lawyer went to court and pushed his own divorce through(that's how I ended up with nothing at age 50 and disabled). I was never even served the papers. I found out I was divorced a month later while in a Shreveport homeless shelter. And not from her. Although she did confirm it, she had "far too much on her plate" to do anything about it. She told me my former lawyer should have never passed me to her. She was certainly right about that! No one should ever have a lawyer that can't be bothered to do their job. I will be filing a complaint with the Bar Association.(Correction. The LABD) In reply to Ms Winchell. No Ma'am. You did indeed tell me you had no time for my sob story. You told me that on four different occasions. You even said that my former attorney should have never passed me to you. When I asked you if I needed to ask the pro bono people for a different attorney you replied "No! They will only send you back to me". Ma'am, I'm not stupid. Every single phone call with you was witnessed and two of the phone calls were recorded. Why? So that in case I misunderstood something there would be someone I could ask. No, you never informed me that you did not represent me and in fact you spoke to my exhusbands lawyer on at least one occasion. While I applaud your effort to negate this bad review, unfortunately this bad review is justified as is the complaint against you. No ma'am, my witnesses are not random people or relatives. As for contact information you did indeed have my phone number, the contact details of the hospital I was in and the shelter I ended up in. You did indeed in fact speak to both me and my case manager at said hospital.

I received Mary Winchell through a court appointment but am very glad I did. She has been very good, effective/efficient, dealt with things time sensitively, been a good advocate in the mental health component of my particular case, and led me in the best steps and advice for the family law matter of my case. In addition, she is very affordable. From my experience in needing an attorney, I do prefer a skilled woman to best represent a woman's rights and legal needs. Thanks Mary.

Mary Winchell helped me and my family when we needed it the most. She is very professional and has man many years of experience and knowledge. She is honest from the very start no matter what the situation is. She gives it to you straight whether its in your favor or not. I literally consider her family now as she was there for us when we had no one else to turn too. We lo e you Mrs. Winchell.

Mary and her assistant were friendly and Mary said she would help me as she had helped another client in the same situation, (the one that referred me to her)I called frequently inquiring about my costs and to see if they needed anything else from me other than what I provided. With a looming court date I started calling almost every day. The Friday before my Tuesday court date Mary said she had not even looked at my case and would review it over the weekend to let me know my fees to pay on Monday. Her and I had spoken at length about me entire situation, as she was the one that had told me the plan of action. But that Friday she worried me. That Monday no one answered the phone in her office and my Tuesday court date came and went without council. It had a grievous effect to not have representation. I had others depending on the outcome and it would have been in my favor had she been there. I would not trust this law firm, or Mary to have your back. She lies and she does not care.

I have to say "What a phenomenal lawyer." Ms. Winchell is a very knowledgeable, experienced, and selfless lawyer who goes above and beyond for her clients. I highly recommend her for all your lawyer needs. Thank you for your services and in the future. Yes, you are my personal lawyer lol. May God bless you and enlarge your territory, you're so deserving of it.
