I called for a consultation, and from the very beginning, I could tell it was not going to be a positive experience. The woman I spoke with had an immediately condescending and dismissive tone. There's a clear difference between being direct and being outright rude and this was unquestionably the latter. I had called to inquire on behalf of my mother, specifically to ask for an estimate of how long she might need to remain outside the country under certain circumstances. Rather than addressing my question, the woman launched into an unsolicited and judgmental rant, suggesting it was our fault my mother could not care for herself and implying she therefore shouldn't leave the country. Not only was her commentary completely inappropriate and unprofessional, but she also made these assumptions without hearing any of the context or exploring possible legal options options which, I should note, other attorneys have confirmed do exist in my mother's situation. Her behavior was unacceptable, and I found the entire interaction highly unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Don't even waste your time.
