I can't thank Maher Staff enough for the wonderful wake and funeral for my Mother-in-law! Eric, Josh, and Jan are so professional and supportive! Maher used to be the old Tinley Park Library and its mid-century look inside and out is something to see. Also their pricing is good. If you have a loved one who was in the service, you can tell that they are very service oriented. Also, we had paid for her funeral years before and we did not have one problem with them honoring her wishes.

I was directly involved in two separate causes of action in which Maher Legal Services PC represented two Army Soldiers unjustly subjected to potential adverse actions. One instance involved an active-duty junior enlisted Soldier subject to retaliation for reporting wrongdoing occurring at an Army health clinic in Germany only weeks removed from completing his advanced individual training (the clinic's chain of command spent weeks fabricating a false mental deficiency based separation cause); the other instance involved an Army Reserve Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) with 25 years of service who endured USERRA related violations by a civilian employer (the police department of a small college and a supervisor who resented the Senior NCO's Army Reserve obligations). This Senior NCO was arrested and accused of taking time off with pay for Army Reserve duty obligations for which it was falsely alleged he did not perform. Attorneys John Maher and Kevin Mikolashek, both of whom are Army Judge Advocate General Veterans, obtained very favorable outcomes for each Soldier. Working in conjunction with an active-duty Army Trial Defense Service attorney, Maher Legal Services PC was able to prevail on behalf of the active-duty junior enlisted Soldier by convincing the health clinic commander to transfer him to a new unit of assignment in-lieu of continuing the falsely based separation action which may have exposed a cover-up of (incredibly) undisputed wrong-doing. The junior enlisted Soldier was subsequently able to complete his term of enlistment with an Honorable Discharge and is now attending college. After a lengthy legal battle, Maher Legal Services PC completely disproved the false allegations levied against the Army Reserve Senior NCO by his former civilian employer and obtained a settlement, the details of which were mutually agreed to not be publicly disclosed. Local media including a television station did subsequently publicize the exoneration of the Senior NCO against the charges levied against him. In each case, Maher Legal Services PC demonstrated the highest degree of professionalism and due diligence. Each litigant received detailed updates pertaining to their respective cases including a number of teleconferences during which all questions and concerns were addressed. I served for a total of 36 1/2 years in both the active and reserve components of the Army, PV1 to SGT and 2LT to COL. I give Maher Legal Services PC the highest possible recommendations.

Our family has buried 4 immediate family members in 2023. Our first experience with Maher was in March when my Aunt passed away. She specifically said she wanted to have her wake at Maher when she passed. So to honor her wishes, that is what our family did. It turned out that was the best decision she could have made. Since March we have been back for 3 more wakes. One in July for my Uncle, and two in November for my Dad and my Grandma. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eric Hoffman. He is trustworthy, kind, compassionate and truly wants to help the families he serves. His partner Jan has now become an honorary member of our family. The funeral home is beautiful, and Eric's attention to every small detail is unmatched. Even though we met under awful circumstances, I couldn't be more grateful to Eric and Jan for walking this road with us and making things just a little easier. We would absolutely recommend Maher to anyone.
