Katrina Cox is the BEST! We strongly recommend using her legal services. She was our real estate attorney when we sold our home in Du Page County this summer. Katrina was very knowledgeable and great to work with. She communicated with us throughout the process in a timely manner. She was a strong negotiator and also helped us save money on our closing. Katrina broke client privacy by not following state law and gave the seller private information without approval. Katrina has a previous relationship with the seller. After she gave the seller my private information, the transaction was ruined, because it placed additional liability onto the seller that should've never occurred. During the transaction, she also gave deadlines that completely contradicted the contract and were in favor of the seller. After I communicated this, she could no longer represent either of us. When this happened, I asked how she would fix this, she started making up false claims about the conduct of the transaction (easily disprovable via emails and texts), and that I was being difficult for asking to follow the law. She stated she gave the client private information, but that the client didn't read it and deleted it. Then she stated she could no longer work on the transaction. Then she sends my private information out again without my consent, stating it's necessary, even though the contract was already cancelled. -The state law requires that seller's provide disclosures prior to entering into a written contract, otherwise they retain liability. I asked for the contract 4-5 times before and after going under contract. This transaction failed because Katrina gave out my private information before I received a seller's disclosure, making the transaction impossible to continue.
