I have worked with Mervate Mohammed's firm on contested divorce cases as her opposing counsel. Mervate was a strong advocate for her clients who also made sure to not fight for the sake of fighting. Ultimately we were able to reach settlements that both parties were happy with, without either client having to spend unnecessary attorney's fees.

Kiswani law, and Mervate in particular, have been wonderful to work with. They advocate for their clients well but are still very fair and Mervate has been generous with her time with me. It is a pleasure to work with them!

An actual abomination to call themselves a law firm Be prepared for bare minimum effort, no results, and to make sure they get every single dime you have. I was very young and trying to get divorced. Googling lawyers I found one I thought might work well. We talked, I liked her and I hired the firm. Months later I start to only hear from Mervate herself, wondering where is the attorney I hired? The company never contacted me to inform me she left months ago and Mervate will now be my lawyer billing me at her higher rate. I would only hear from the firm if there was a bill to get paid or 2-3 days before a court date was coming up. When the bills did start coming I caught a few inaccuracies in the bill and had to call to get them removed. Many instances where you get billed high amounts for documents that are copy and pasted. And yes, I know they were copy and pasted because sometimes they'd forget to remove the other cases information and I'd have to ask for it to be switched before signing. I should have known to have found a new lawyer from the start, but I was young and didn't have another retainer fee to pay another lawyer. It dragged on for years, pocketing everything they could and getting me absolutely no results even with all the information I had. Just over a year after being finalized I'm already back in court trying to fix the subpar work the office did with a new lawyer who is jaw dropped over the type of information I had that wasn't used. Kiswani law wanted a quick and easy case and didn't put any effort into it. They withheld information, didn't care for the type of situation my kids and I were in and in, did bare minimum work that someone without a lawyer could do, but got their thousands and left. It doesn't matter if you have a cut and dry case or a case where your children might be in danger, avoid avoid avoid. I have never left a review before but I'm praying this one helps someone not make the same mistake I did. Please, for your sake, pick someone else.
