I hope those that are looking to hire Heath Wells as an attorney read this review and think twice before paying his retainer. I had two consultations with Heath in August. I left both consultations feeling 100% confident that Heath would be able to help me with my case; I felt that he was listening to my concerns and taking notes during the consultations. I paid the retainer and I was told that I would have a petition sent to me within a week. The first time the paralegal reached out, it appeared that she didn't know anything about my case; she was asking for documents that didn't pertain to my case and I had to send a couple of emails to clarify my situation. After this, two weeks went by without hearing anything so I checked in with the paralegal. I was told that Heath was reviewing the petition for approval and I would have it sent to me soon for me to review and approve. Another week went by and I was sent the petition. The petition addressed nothing that Heath and I went over in the consultation. False allegations against my ex were put in the petition, there were a few small, but very important grammatical errors throughout the petition, the child support amount wasn't changed (this was a huge subject that Heath and I talked about in the consultation), and the petition was missing important topics from the parenting plan that needed to be addressed. I was charged roughly $800 and I had to spend 6+ hours combing through the petition to look for changes and create a list of what was wrong. I sent the paralegal an email with my concerns and I didn't hear back for 5 days. I had to call the office to ask someone to contact me. The paralegal emailed back wanting to set up a meeting with her and Heath, which meant I was going to have to pay both of them more money to fix their mistakes. I declined because I was giving birth that week and asked for a phone call with Heath. I didn't receive a response back from the paralegal. I had to go to the office to ask for Heath to contact me. I was told Heath would contact me, then I get an email that I was being dropped as a client and I was NOT receiving a refund for the $800 that I was charged. The whole petition was useless, all of it needed to be changed, and the child support paperwork was wrong. I don't understand, as a lawyer, how you can charge a client for work that had so many mistakes that it needed to be completely redrafted, especially with the child support paperwork being wrong. My money and time has been wasted, and $800 of my savings is gone. Tamarack Legal, I trusted you to help me with my case; it is ethically wrong to charge clients for terrible work and not communicate in good faith.

If you are searching for legal services I would recommend exploring all other options before looking into Tamarack legal services. My wife and I have been dealing with her case and the court process going back and forth for over a year now. Finally we decided that it would be in everyone's best interest to hire legal representation and make sure that all concerns were addressed and we could file a proper parenting plan to ease the stress put on both households. After one consultation I attended the second with my wife and we both felt confident that Heath and his team would be a good fit. Despite us having a baby on the way, I agreed to hire Tamarack and finally help our family get the relief we need. We were told a petition would be completed and sent to us by the end of the week, after 24 days and emails for updates we finally received the "petition." In both consultations it appeared that Heath was taking good notes and listening to us. The petition that we got back couldn't have been further from that. It looked to me like the paralegal assigned to our case used a template added some minor details and sent it out. We were told that Heath reviewed and approved this petition but I'm not convinced. The petition was full of errors, things that were simply not true, bad wording, typos, conflicting dates/times, the child support paperwork was completely wrong (which was a major point of conversation during our consults). We reached out to the office after my wife had spent about 6 hours combing through all of our notes, correcting their mistakes, as well and conflicting items in the parenting plan. We received no communication back for another week. At this point a month has past and we have not even spoken to Heath once, all time that we can't afford to loose. We called the office but were not taken seriously. It got to the point where we had to physically go to the office with no appointment to try and figure out what was going on. We simply could not get a response back from them. We were told twice, once over the phone and once when we dropped in the office, that Heath would be reaching out directly to address our concerns. He never did. A few days later while my wife and I were in the hospital the only communication we received was a email from the paralegal saying that we were dropped as clients. We never even spoke to Heath once after the initial consult before we paid the retainer. At this point the only thing that was accomplished was wasting over a month of our time and $750 out of our retainer for paperwork that we can't use. We are not a wealthy family, it took a lot of hardship and work to put that money together to try and take care of this. This was a major financial decision for us. We feel completely robbed by Tamarack and our trust broken. When retaining legal representation you're putting your trust in that team to represent you in front of the court who has the authority to change your life depending on the case. After the way we were treated and our money that was wasted I would not recommend Tamarack legal services. We now need to take the money we have left and start over.

If you're looking for a compassionate law firm who will fight tooth and nail for you and your kids, then Tamarack is the right place for you. The office staff is fantastic, and they truly care about your case. Would definitely recommend!

My experience with Tamarack Legal has been one of the best experiences! Not only is Heath an outstanding attorney and works extremely hard for his clients, he is also very compassionate and great at communicating. Both him and his staff feel like family and they're compassionate towards their clients. His staff are great communicators, hard working and organized. They truly care about people.
