1 Star Poor Communication, Misrepresentation, and Abandonment I hired Jeremy Clark's law firm to represent me in a domestic violence case in Pinellas County, and my experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, there was a serious lack of clear strategy and communication. My attorney repeatedly told me I would only need to complete 8 Batterers' Intervention Program (BIP) classes to satisfy the court. When that number was rejected by the State, I was then told to complete 15 -- only to find out later that Florida law actually requires 26-29 weeks of classes, and there was never a realistic plan explained to me. Had I been properly advised from the start, I would have taken my case to trial instead of entering into an agreement under false expectations. My attorney never explained the statutory requirements under Florida Statutes SS741.281 and SS948.03, nor did they give me any milestone plan (like "8 then 15 then 30 if needed"). Instead, I was left reacting to rejections from the State each time, while my lawyer had no real strategy. To make matters worse, the firm filed a motion to withdraw as counsel at a critical point -- right after the contact order was revoked because I hadn't finished the classes. They withdrew instead of standing by me and addressing the fact that their advice caused this entire problem. It felt like they abandoned me mid-case, rather than taking responsibility for their misguidance. This firm's lack of transparency, failure to properly advise me of my legal obligations, and sudden withdrawal at a crucial stage left me in a worse position than when I started. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm: make sure you understand Florida law yourself, because you can't rely on them to explain it properly or see your case through to the end.
