This attorney is representing our landlord. The landlord doesn't like how high the utility bills have been (included in rent with no stipulations whatsoever) and has been harassing us with this attorney for awhile to get us out. The landlord is unlawfully breaking the lease agreement by raising and locking us out of the smart thermostat (sometimes reaching 79 in the house), locked us out of a storage closet we are paying for after insisting we "picked the lock" in front of her property manager and the other random irrelevant guy she brought along for a home inspection to intimidate us (keep in mind there is nothing in the contract about a locked closet or closet not to enter), seemingly refusing to call a plumber to fix the tub drain that doesn't work, etc.. The most recent document from this attorney is claiming we are actually violating the lease agreement by leaving doors and windows open ceiling fans on which raises the humidity and causes excessive mold. Obviously this doesn't make sense because we are not opening windows or leaving doors open and ceiling fans do not cause mold. I'm not sure how they would even know this anyway. The reason it is so hot and humid is because we lack adequate access to the AC among other things like absolutely zero ventilation in the kitchen. This attorney clearly doesn't know the law and is going to get their client in serious trouble. I would recommend staying away from this attorney. As of now, they're too cowardly to even answer our calls or respond to emails simply to clarify what they mean in their documents they send us.
