I was stopped after an officer saw my passenger tires off the road, and subsequently arrested for DUI after being out with some co-workers after a Christmas function. Spent the rest of the night, well into the following afternoon in jail. This was my first time being arrested, and the only driving violation on my record at 36. I cooperated with the officers and agreed to a breathalyzer test. After doing some research I called Parks & Braxton, and initially spoke with Andrew Parks. Andrew was very patient while I described what happened and reassured me he and the team could help. Andrew explained that there is a first time offender program that I may qualify for. Andrew gave me a path to obtaining a temporary license I could use for work until the trial, and laid out each course of action the team would take. Mike Braxton then handled my case. Unfortunately, I did not qualify for the first time offender program. In preparation for the trial, Mike and the team worked hard on the ADA to bring my charge down from DUI to a plea for reckless driving (with a breath test of .23). He also went the extra mile to try to have the adjudication withheld so I could maintain my current employment. Unfortunately, the state wouldn't budge on latter part. Mike was super down to Earth, respectful, understanding, and direct. He made himself available whenever I had questions or concerns, and made me feel relevant and heard in a process where I felt discarded and ignored. I'm thankful for the outcome. I'm thankful I didn't hurt or kill anyone or myself, and that I didn't hit anything. I'm thankful I chose to call Parks and Braxton to help me when I needed it most. P.S.
