Title: Disappointing Experience with Tonya Holman I regret to share my experience with Tonya Holman, as it was unfortunately far from satisfactory. Initially, I contacted her for assistance with my divorce, believing I had found a capable attorney based on positive reviews and her self-presentation. Unfortunately, my experience proved otherwise. During our $200 phone consultation--which does not apply to your service once retained--Tonya assured me that she could finalize my divorce within 41 days, given that it was uncontested. I retained her services on March 18 and promptly paid all fees and submitted the necessary paperwork. However, as the months passed, it became increasingly clear that no progress was being made on my case. What was particularly disheartening was Tonya's judgment based on my financial affidavit, which felt wholly unjustified. As of September, I found myself without any action taken on my case--only unfulfilled promises. When I requested a refund of my retainer due to the lack of service, she quickly filed an affidavit to withdraw as my counsel, but I have yet to see any refund issued. I share this review to provide an honest account of my experience. While it's easy for attorneys to curate glowing reviews, I encourage potential clients to thoroughly research and consider multiple options before making a decision. My experience with Tonya has taught me that relying solely on reviews can be misleading. Take the time to find a lawyer who truly delivers on their promises and meets your needs.

***edit to add***** Due to it being an ongoing case, I can't write a review at this time ................... Because of the comment left below by the firm implying that I'd lie, I will share the following that doesn't involve case details. Emails are left unanswered, it takes multiple emails to get any reply. I've called the office during business hours and the phone didn't get picked up multiple times throughout a week. One paralegal got fired and instead of issuing any kind of apology (paralegal was claiming to have done work that wasn't actually completed) there was no explanation or transparency. I can understand that an employee had shortcomings, but a simple, "we're sorry for any delays or issues with your case. So-and-so no longer works here and we have found some firm procedures weren't followed and we're working to correct this". Super generic, but it would have been nice to hear. I was supposed to have a meeting before the hearing and that never happened. The paralegal replaced some of my evidence with her own findings from the internet, and chose the wrong schools to get info on. The photos they used in court weren't in color and were grainy and low quality, which looked embarrassing and cheap. We weren't prepared and she didn't listen to my concerns. They bill very liberally and it will cost you. For example, I accidentally left off the back page in some scans, and in the email to let me know that, I was charged $125. For a single email that took probably 3 min to send for an honest mistake. I've spent my life savings trying to fight for my children and this firm has absolutely no compassion and the attorney is disconnected from what it is like to be barely making it. I had all of my documents in a Google drive and it was organized. I reorganized it because the attorney said it was too much. So I made a separate folder and organized only the most pertinent info. They still couldn't figure out how to use the drive and at the last minute days before a hearing, I had to take a half day off from work to email all the documents because they couldn't figure out the drive. I'm not tech savvy, if I can figure out how to use a Google drive, I expect that a professional law firm would as well. If you try to provide feedback because of things like the above, they are not going to take ownership for mistakes. They'll ignore you. I've never been rude or unprofessional, never yelled, never sworn. When I've provided feedback, the primary emotion you might pick up on is "desperately worried". So, I wasn't some nightmare client who was being a irrational and unprofessional person. And then they'll imply in their comment that you'd "better tell the truth". One thing is for certain, I'm telling the truth. I've been telling the truth. It's all that keeps me going, because I couldn't endure this nightmare of a custody battle if I wasn't desperately clinging to the truth. I would have given up tens of thousands of dollars ago. That's definitely the worst. I'm not lying, and if you think I am, you never should have represented me. I definitely don't recommend. Communication with this firm is the number 1 problem. The second, an inability to recieve feedback and attempt to rectify understandable concerns.

If I could give zero stars I would. This law office is highly unprofessional. Emails and calls go unanswered, then the attorney attempts to gaslight you into it being your fault they didn't respond. I paid this attorney well of $10,000 and I am not sure what I paid for. I spoke to another attorney and they advised me to tell Tonya's office how I felt about not getting responses, when I did so they fired me as a client then sent another bill. It is so wild all I can do is laugh to stop from crying. I have a new attorney and within a month of hiring my case is about to be settled. Unethical is the word that comes to mind with how they treat paying clients. So if you want to pay to be ignored this is the office for you. My advice is steer clear.

The experience with Holman and her team has been wonderful. Mrs. Holman has fought extremely hard in protecting my grandchildren. Although she has hundreds of other cases she has never failed to remain knowledgeable of the evidence and has always gotten back with any questions or concerns. I consider Miss Holman and her team like family. Her firm comes highly recommended.
