Let me start by saying that the case was done in a matter of months. My issue is and was that I was only told that I would be taxed on the portion that the employer paid out. 2 years later I get a letter from the IRS stating I have to pay taxes on the portion that the lawyer received which was over 8k, mind you he never stated that I would have to pay taxes on the portion that he received. My second issue was and is that when I called the lawyer to question him about about it he had his assistant give me the run around and have her tell me that he can't give me tax advise. I called numerous times and I asked to speak with the lawyer not his assistant but because he got paid now he wants nothing to do with me. I was not looking for tax advise. The real issue here is that he was not upfront and completely honest that I would have to pay taxes on anything else. Luckily I was able to speak to the IRS and let them know that I never saw that money and it went straight to the lawyer and the IRS was able to help me not the lawyer. Which to this day has not bothered to call me himself. You do what you want with this information. Have a day you deserve!
