Client
I did three closings with this office in the past year and as long as everything is lined up, they are good. But for the last one the seller wanted to stay in the property for 2months. I had mentioned to the attorney's office that I can handle the deposit separately as I was traveling to India for family emergency and was going to be out of town for 6 weeks. There was an occupancy agreement signed , stating the seller will pay us the deposit but I was not told explicitly that I need to go after the seller for this and that this will jot be communicated to the seller. Factual thing is the attorneys office was dealing with the sellers attorney and we did not even go to the close to be able to collect the deposit because attorney Witt did the closing on our behalf. Now eight weeks later, I have no contact with the seller who is my tenant now and no deposit either. I only received an email address last week and bo response to my emails there. When I tried to highlight that the seller information should have been provided to me and the seller should have been notified to provide the deposit to me, the attorney got all defensive and stated the contract has been executed as signed and there was no wanting to really help. After me stating the contract was executed for sure but not quite a good service, attorney chose to call it out as me being nasty. Really sad this is what the experience had come to. I would have been at the closing if this is how this was going to be handled. So much for trusting attorney Witt with my deals. Definitely will be my last here. I am convinced there is no care for "servicing" the client. So if you use them watch out- hopefully you can avoid my experience and heart ache!
