Several years ago I was viciously attacked by an unattended dog which had escaped out the front gate onto the sidewalk. The block was on a rather steep incline and I had gotten off the bike and was walking my bike up the sidewalk when I noticed the dog. I stopped in my tracks so I would not alarm the loose dog.
