Unfortunately my husband was his paralegal for a few difficult years. I even went to see David for a consultation on a case I had pending with Social Security. He was so clueless that I was concerned because this man is a terrible excuse for an attorney. He has almost no clue what is going on in his office, forcing employees to try to wing it most of the time. But he doesn't help. He doesn't hire more employees to help. He sits at his desk playing Solitaire. Or is out buying new vehicles and toys, etc. Then, when he does come back in the office, he is abusive to his staff. My husband was yelled at so many times for things that happened when he wasn't even there, like when we'd go on vacation. He tried to force my husband to work when he was home so sick with COVID. We still have the evidence of that ordeal. It's a shame that he can't keep his employees for very long. He treats them like servants, yelling, cursing, slamming, blaming, sabotaging and insulting them for things that are HIS fault for not being present for anything. An attorney that doesn't hold himself accountable for anything he does, is a dangerous one.

David Dorenfeld and his team at Dorenfeld Law have shown me endless support over the years. They have worked and fought hard for my interests, and most importantly, to protect me. They are knowledgeable, persistent, and straightforward. I was always able to call with the smallest of questions and gain peace of mind. I felt like I was in good hands and in the end, though things didn't go as we'd hoped, I was kept safe and informed. I will always appreciate the care and thoughtfulness that I was shown!

I spoke with David today, who I see is the owner. His nonchalant tone and condescending laughs towards my questions and lack of knowledge on the law around evictions were not welcomed. He may not need my money or business, but this firm has definitely lost my respect. I was going to hire them; however, my 7 minutes spent with him on the phone was not a good experience. I found someone else who appeared my emphatic and willing to listen.

I had a 3min conversation with David and I feel he brushed off my true issue and only wanted to address what he wanted to address not my real issue. The condescending tone and reflection in his voice about my issue is very rude. I'll be calling smartlaw for a new referral. Definitely not wasting my time here I don't feel welcomed at all!!!!!!!!! I'm from the east coast California people laugh in your face about real problems very disrespectful!!!!!!

Update: He personally was retained by me. He would not release my files which legally belongs to me. I filed a formal complain with the bar. He thinks that I need to spend time and make him a copy of the file which I refused. He does not grasp who was retained by whom. Over the years, he claims that the files conveniently were purged as a matter of practice knowing well that they belonged to me and that I have asked for them. All of this refusal and destruction of files are because he lied in the court to the judge and the jury before me. I should have fired him right then and there. He does not want any such record see the light of the day. This is the paid attorney that suppose to defend me not lie on my behalf. Infact, when I posted my review on him on Avvo, even then he lies to them as I never was his client.... "From: Avvo Customer Care Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 10:01 PM Subject: Action required: Your review of David Dorenfeld is being disputed David Dorenfeld has disputed some of the information in your review -- please reply to this and verify that you were a client of, or consulted with, David Dorenfeld." He offers a lot in his response, but never have been willing to release my files. He fears liability when exposed. Avoid him and his firm. Unprepared and wishy washy defence forced him to lie. ............. Mr. Dorenfeld was retained by me to handle a civil case with my previous employer where he indicates the simplicity of the case and sends me pre printed personal injury agreement to sign. My case was not handled the way you'd expect despite our personal meetings providing feedback on the lack of preparation from him and his team. Claims made during court appearances were vague and contrary to the evidences in hand. During the trial, misrepresentations were made on undisputed facts by both parties. Last minute made up arguments was made due to lack of due diligence or strategy in place to prepare and present my case. This has been the most hands off, least communicated, or committed to civil case I have seen causing me sever emotional, financial distress, and forcing me to file for bankruptcy. To this day, I have not been able to obtain my records and files on the case either.
